Jump’suit’ Your New Year!

January 2, 2016

J: So, our lovely cousin Lisa claims to be “too short” to rock a jumpsuit…I know you totally disagree. And even though I am learning, I too struggle to see past one look and to overcome the height barrier, literally and figuratively.

A: You are definitely learning; and even better you are totally progressing! Jumpsuits are so great…one piece and you have an instant, pulled together look. Even better, women of various shapes and sizes can wear them…I promise! It’s all about picking the right style for your shape. The jumpsuit I selected for our Your Closet Wants page is universally flattering with a scoop neck, thin cinch at the waist and loose, slightly flared legs. That style of jumpsuit can truly be treated like a pretty tank and pants. Girls who need a lot of support on top, can still wear their favorite bra with the spaghetti straps by simply throwing on a cute jacket, scarf, cardigan or flannel!

J: Once again sis, you’ve blown my mind and opened my eyes to how many possibilities one piece of clothing can create. It so never occurred to me that jumpsuits could come in so many styles and shapes and that they truly can be a Your Closet Wants piece. But please as always, hold my hand and SHOW me how versatile they can be.

A: You know it’s my pleasure to do just that! But before we get on with the show, and to add to my previous point, I just want to mention a couple of things about our jumpsuits. Your jumpsuit has extra fabric on top to add some volume where you lack and it’s form fitted at the ankle to accentuate your great legs! My jumpsuit is a tank style with a ‘V’ neck to offset my broad shoulders. It’s also tight at the ankles as I like having the option to scrunch the legs up or let them hang straight depending on the look and the shoe I’m working that day.

J: So, you’re telling me that UNLIKE Monica’s boots…jumpsuits really do go with everything and are NOT painful?!

A: YES! Now that’s progress ;)!

Flannel is having such a moment! Add your favorite along with a pair of suede pumps or booties for a trendy, but totally chic vibe!

J: Ok, as I am sure you are all catching on, my fashionista sister is totes holding out…as she owns SEVEN jumpsuits in various lengths, shapes, cuts, colors…you get the drift. I take credit for the following suit as she looks like a total Hollywood glamster in this badboy!

A: It’s true, I’m such a sucker for a great jumpsuit and when I tried the white one on below, Jenn wouldn’t let me leave the store without it and I’ve never been one to argue much. Perhaps another day in another post, I’ll share the others ;).

J: Well, I for one learned A LOT!

A: But most importantly?

J: Yes, sis, I had FUN!

A: 🙂

Really liking the flannel/booties idea a lot, and the moto jacket and sneakers is cool – I can do that. Maybe in another life I will be glam enough for the hot white number!!

White would look great on you…you should go for it, Lisa! Aside from black, navy would be lovely on you, too! ?

You look great in that white jumpsuit! I really appreciate the tip on a v neck to offset broad shoulders – I’ve got those. Looks like I need to try out a few jumpsuits to find the right one now that you’ve convinced me they are so versatile. Thanks ladies!

Thanks so much! You will look beautiful in a jumpsuit and while black is so great, I think red would be stunning on you as well! ❤

I like the one and done style of dressing. I may have to add a black jumpsuit to my wardrobe. Thanks!

There are several tips I take away from this! I will definitely be trying on jumpsuits! Thanks girls for all the ideas!

Sara, a jumpsuit would look amazing on you! I think you should rock one in army green styled with brown ankle booties and some of your fabulous hand-made jewelry! ?

I’m loving the silver with the black. I’m going to have to start going places to wear these ideas!!
