A: Okay, so we thoroughly enjoy the whole Black Friday…
A: Hats used to be out of my comfort zone, but like jumpsuits (see our last post), it’s all about finding the proper fit! After a bit of trial and error, I’ve found what works best for the shape of my face and really enjoy the way a great hat can elevate a look.
J: I can’t believe I am going to say this (I am stepping out of my comfort zone by saying this) but I feel like I CAN wear any hat, so what are your pointers to those who need help picking the right style?
A: You have a well-defined jaw and oval face which means that hats of all shapes and sizes are going to be easy for you to wear. My face is long and my jaw is narrow so floppy hats add volume in a way that’s flattering. Shallow caps are a must for me as I don’t want to add more length to my face. A wide brimmed hat with a fairly shallow cap is the most universally flattering because it frames the face. I personally don’t wear ball caps unless I’m going to or am watching a baseball game, but I think they look good on most face shapes, too…curve the bill and keep the cap shallow! If you have a full face, I think fedoras and soft, medium brimmed, hats are very flattering!
J: Sweet! So I also need to keep breaking my comfort limits and remember that hats aren’t just for bad hair days. Aren’t they also for rainy days when all the hats can combine to form one giant super hat that you and all your ‘Friends’ can fit under? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84eB2mHUBdU
A: HAHAHAHA! I need not say more…I mean, C L E A R L Y, we are having FUN!
This hat sports a beachy sort of Soutwestern vibe. Fun! But, if it isn’t quite your speed, you could opt for a different woven hat, in the always flattering color…black…

Well I always say “I” can’t rock a hat, but seeing all these great hats makes me want to try again! I’m thinking the gray wool and the one in the last picture with the brown band are the ones calling my name. Where might I find these two please so I can jump out of “my” comfort zone?!
Hi Lisa! The wool hat is from Von Maur and the other is from Target…both were less than $20! ?
No way!! I’m excited – thanks!
You’re welcome! ?
Love all your hats ladies!! You ladies look amazing! I also love to wear a hat! Does any style hat go? I have some old ones… Are they worth holing on to? I guess certain styles do go in and out of style right?
Hi Vanessa!
You are so sweet, thank you! If your older hats have held their shape and color and you feel good in them, you should hang on to them! You can make one of those hats feel current by wearing something else that’s really trending…like flannel, flare leg pants or jeans or an amazing pair of fringed boots! Accessorize with your smile and you’ll look stunning, no doubt! ❤
